This home addition and remodel is full of raw wood, natural elements and rustic beauty. After removing half the wall in the dinning room and the addition in the living room. Everything is very open, pure and calm, you will not find any rich colors and over the top Christmas decorations, just perfectly tailored interior decor that is part of the place itself.

The home looks really amazing and well balanced. The new windows, doors,

4th of July Entertaining !

Related imageRelated image

Happy Fourth of July!  This is one of our favorite holidays of the year. We love getting the family together, cooking a great big dinner and walking to the park to watch fireworks. We know that most other families have similar rituals with homemade ice cream, sparklers, and plenty of red, white and blue.

This year if you are the one having a party, take a look around your house at the areas that are perfect for entertaining and how your guests are using them. For example, are they having trouble navigating tight areas? Is there a playroom for the children? Is the kitchen capable of handling the extra load? And most importantly is there room to sit outside and enjoy the day?

One area of emphasis we have been seeing is your grilling area. Over the past five years the demand for outdoor kitchens has gone up to the point where they are quickly becoming standard in home remodels.  But why cook outside? Easy it’s fun, relaxing and you can still join the party while grilling.

Outside  kitchens are not simply meant for the short term. Consider the fact that outdoor renovations return most of their value when you sell your house.

This July Fourth, enjoy yourself and keep a watchful eye. You might have an idea that could transform your home for years to come!

2017 Bathroom Remodel Questions

Where is the first room in your home you visit when you wake up? You probably answered the bathroom. Yet while you may see the bathroom as just a place you visit throughout the day, it’s much more than that! It’s a laboratory for bold designs, offering trends that are big on personality and even bigger on function. Although the basic necessities of the bathroom remain the same, the trends of your home’s most private room have evolved to fit your tastes, preferences.

Have you been thinking about remodeling your bathroom? Perhaps you’re ready to get rid of the old pink tile, outdated cabinetry or dingy tub, but you’re not quite sure where to start, or know what options are out there today. Intense Remodel is here to help! We’ve compiled a list of the top trends we’re seeing this year so that you know what’s hot, and what you may want to keep on your radar as you plan your bathroom remodeling project.

Freestanding Tubs

The tub as you know it is a place to bathe, but this year we’re seeing the bathtub take center stage as a beautiful piece of furniture. You’re probably used to seeing the tub placed in a corner or built into an alcove, but today, tubs are standing alone with no platform or steps surrounding it. Many beautiful designs and shapes are available, depending on your taste and design style. Whether you choose a vintage claw-foot or modern soaking tub, this freestanding item will provide any master bathroom an elegant atmosphere.

Oversized Showers

If a freestanding tub isn’t your cup of tea, or if you have a lot of space to work with, oversized showers with multiple jets, shower heads, and steam options remain very popular in 2017. In fact, many homeowners have chosen to remove their tubs altogether to allow for large showers in their bathrooms! That’s because they can provide a spa-like experience for your everyday use. These types of showers can be designed with an endless variety of beautiful tile and glasswork to create the look and feel you’re wanting.

Floating Vanities

If you’re looking to make your freestanding tub or oversized shower the focal point of your space, you may want to consider the floating vanity. Minimalistic in design, these vanities provide a more modern and open feel in your bathroom. In many cases, you can expect for the design to offer drawers over doors to address your storage needs. Whether you prefer traditional or modern styling, the design of the floating vanity preserves space in your bathroom.

Smart Storage

Speaking of space, let’s talk about smart storage. Most bathrooms include some form of cabinetry for storage, and the good news is that cabinet manufacturers offer interior options to help you keep all your essentials organized. Smart storage cabinetry includes pull-outs, roll-outs and other special features that pack maximum utility into little space.

Round Mirrors

Mirrors are getting a makeover this year, replacing its traditional square and rectangular shapes with round, curved edges. This represents a departure from what we’re used to seeing in bathrooms and adds a dynamic focal point to the space. Round mirrors can create a unique and simple element that’s understated with a design that has the potential to stand the test of time.

We hope these ideas for 2017 have inspired some ideas for your own home! Incorporating fresh designs into your bathroom will not only add value to your home, but will also allow you to give it your personal touch, and enjoy the time you spend.

When it comes to choosing the perfect natural stone to use in your home, limestone is a beautiful and classic option. This versatile stone can give your home a stately look and can be used for a variety of applications. Want to know more about limestone? Read on to learn about its history, characteristics and recommended uses.

THE HISTORY OF LIMESTONE

All around the world, limestone rock is composed primarily of calcite minerals from the shells of marine organisms like coral reef. Formed through compression on the ocean floor, this sedimentary rock has a long history. Used for building as long ago as 4,000 BCE, limestone has been a popular choice for architecture due to its strength and ease of cutting. This type of rock is also used as an ingredient in cement and mortar.

LIMESTONE’S APPEARANCE, CHARACTERISTICS

Installing limestone tile in your home is a great way to enhance any space and bring some timeless, natural beauty to a room. Limestone tile can feature marble-like veins, unique colorations and striking fossilized patterning, and can be polished or tumbled for different looks. Preserved impressions of fossils can also be seen in some limestone, making it a distinctive and one-of-a-kind.

Other than its beautifully rugged and naturally textured appearance, limestone is also gaining popularity for its durability. This long-lasting material will retain its strength and beauty for years, adding value to your home for generations with proper care.

USING LIMESTONE TILE IN YOUR HOME

Limestone floor tile is an elegant yet affordable tile option perfect for virtually anywhere in your home. Choose this durable, earthy stone to make your living room, bathroom or kitchen floors stand out. Limestone is also ideal for fireplace facades, backsplashes, tub surrounds and outdoor applications.

It’s important to properly seal limestone after installing it in your home, since the stone has a porous surface and can be prone to stains if not protected. In addition, since limestone is a softer stone type, it may be subject to scratching or chipping if used in high-traffic areas such as hallways. For a more unique and modern color, our new Belguin Blue limestone tile offers a stylish and sophisticated look.
